Celebs Confessin Their Love

August 28, 2011

Any Arsenal fans reading this? Maybe it’ll get your mind off the score. If youre not a football fan I think you should know that Manchester United played against Arsenal. The game ended with a score of 8-2 for ManU, so hard luck Gunners!

Any who back to the post, A few days ago or so Jim Carrey confessed his love to Emma Stone on video which inspires Kathy Griffin to confess her love to Justin Bieber. I honestly don’t know if this is for real or its a joke but I do find it kinda funny.

Shark in the streets of Puerto Rico

August 26, 2011

Fake Shark

Thanks to all the social networks theres an image going around of  a shark in the street of Puerto Rico cause of Hurricane Irene, so being the curious person I am I started googling. And it was fake! Many people started posting about it and it was broadcasted on a TV Station not knowing its fake. This picture was first posted on “reddit” and you know how it goes from there. Any who this picture wasn’t taken it was edited. Once you look at the original picture you can see that it looks like exactly the same shark and in this case it IS actually the same shark but in a different environment.

The picture below was from a 2005 issue of Africa Geographic

Arabs in America

August 26, 2011

A group of people decided to make a documentary on Arabs living in America.

A friend sent me the trailer,

“Fordson” is a feature length documentary film that follows four talented high school football players from Dearborn Michigan as they gear up for their big senior year rivalry game during the last ten days of Ramadan, a month when Muslims traditionally fast every day from sunrise to sundown.

The story is set against the backdrop of the stunningly beautiful Fordson High School, a public high school built by Henry Ford in 1922, which was once all white, but now boasts a 98% Arab population. As our team readies itself to play its affluent, cross town rival, we unearth the adversity faced by a community that is desperately holding onto its Islamic faith and trying to gain acceptance from their fellow U.S. citizens in post 9-11 America.

Through the eyes of the team, their coaches, and their fans, we get an unprecedented glimpse inside the lives of a community that is home to the largest concentration of Arabs in any city outside of the Middle East, and their determination to hold on to the American Dream.

Review: Blackberry Bold 9900

August 26, 2011

Well its no iPhone! I’m kidding, I’m not gonna compare the two. This post is strictly gonna be on the new blackberry.

My uncle got it today and he was so excited, so I turned on the innocent act so I could get to play with it a bit and guess what yes my acting skills worked! Or it could be that he’s simply nice in which he is! Okay getting a bit carried away back to the blackberry!

Yes notice the Barca logo!

First of all I gotta admit I’m lovin the design! They took their customers favorite features and combined them to form the bold 9900. Those features are first the touch screen and the bold keyboard. But of course they already did that with the torch but this time it’s not a slide phone nor a flip phone just a regular device. However this regular device does look might I say shmexy, haha!

Pictures add 10 pounds

Setting aside its sleek design, the device is extremely light. The screen is big as well, vertically speaking its larger than the screen of the torch which I personally think is better. The graphics are amazing as well, everything is so clear and appealing but I think that’s just cause it’s a new phone and all but that doesn’t change the quality of the graphics.

Honestly, what I really like about it is that you’ve got both options available (touch screen and the keyboard). It made me miss my blackberry days. I really don’t have anything else to comment on, but if it helps my uncle seems to really enjoy it and he keeps bringing up how awesome it is.

So now to the question: Should you buy it? First you guys should understand that is hard for me to talk about the blackberry in such pleasant ways! A bit over the top? Hmm maybe. Back to my point, if you’re a blackberry person and you don’t think that that’s ever going to change by all means go ahead and get it you won’t regret it. However that’s if you have a worn out phone. If you don’t then I really don’t see the point of getting it. If you’re one of those who still have the blackberry with the trackball I think its time to experience the non-lagging trackpad! But wait! If you’re one of those people still uncertain of what you want I suggest you wait till the new iPhone is released which is only  matter of months! Good luck with whatever you decide *clears throat* iPhone FTW!

Thank you and good-bye!

Steve Jobs Resigns

August 24, 2011

The one and only Steve Jobs, yes Apples chief executive officer resigned from his position today! Truly heartbreaking!

The following is a copy of his resignation letter…

To the Apple (AAPL) Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Steve

I really didn’t see this coming! This guy is truly amazing, thank you for all that you’ve done Mr.Jobs! Apple all the way!

Review: Cinemin Swivel

August 24, 2011

What the heavens is a Cinemin Swivel you make ask! Well I have the answer! It’s basically a mini projector that works with the iPod, iPhone, and the iPad. You simply plug in the correct cable (not much to it) and play a video and BOOM.

I know for a fact, okay maybe not a fact more like a theory but let’s go with it! Almost everyone wished they’d have a screen on their ceiling am I right? Well now you can actually play your shows and movies on your ceiling using this mini projector! It’s quite awesome! We’ve all had troubles at some point trying to adjust ourselves to have a perfect view of the screen well now with the projector you can adjust your screen to fit your needs! Haha I’m sounding more like a salesperson.

Of course there are many other projectors but I went with this one after reading reviews online and frankly I don’t regret it. It is almost perfect! It only has one major flaw though, it only projects what is played. For instance, you can only view your pictures if you play theslide show. It doesn’t just project everything you’re doing on your device so that bummed me out a bit. But it was really that important and so I used it for what it was made for. Im lovin technology (Sorry McDonalds)!

Plus its sound system is actually pretty good, you can control the volume and all. I was worried at first that it might be too low but it was great quality and also you can plug in your headphones and listen. The image size and quality was great. Maximum image size is 60 inches diagonal!

Most importantly, I think this is the most obvious point, it needs to be dark for you to enjoy it! Cause with light the projection will just fade.

Lights Off = Great Image

Lights On = Faded Image

Oh wow! Sleepless!

August 24, 2011

Oh wow! Do you believe it? It’s the 24 of August already! This month felt  like a week, less than a week! It feels like yesterday we were getting everything ready for Ramadan and setting everything up and making sure we’ve got the groceries! Oh wow! Time needs to chill and take a break, maybe we should offer it a kitkat? I’ll admit I’ve used that joke before, well I wouldn’t really call it a joke since no one really laughed but it was worth the try eh?

This Should Be Me Right Now

Oh wow! Excuse my lameness, It’s currently 8:20 AM and I still haven’t slept! One thing about Ramadan is that you don’t really have to travel across the world to be jet lagged, and that not necessarily a good thing haha. School is coming up soon so we gotta get ready for that and fix this tiring sleeping pattern.

Oh wow! So yea I’m still up trying to find something to occupy my time with, good news is I finally found the 10th episode of The Glee Project but it’s not 100% complete but its good enough so as I’m writing this as I’m waiting for it to load.

Oh wow! So many unnecessary “oh wow”s in this post, bear with me!

Review: The Glee Project

August 23, 2011

I recently started watching the show well I started yesterday and I’m updated on 9 of the 10 episodes. They’ve got only one season consisting of 10 episodes. It’s a competition show, I’ve been hearing tons of good reviews about it so I decided to give it a chance and so I did and I loved it!

Have you all heard of Glee? If you haven’t where have you been living?! So the creator of Glee, Ryan Murphy decided to try out this project so he could have a new characters to put in the show since the characters now are close to graduating. There will be only one winner, but the beauty of this competition is that it’s not only about singing, its involves acting and attitude. Murphy is looking for an individual that inspires him to create a character. So your singing and acting abilities won’t help you if you fail to show your personality while performing. The show started off with 12 people who have been chosen by the Glee casting director after auditioning.

Each week the contenders are given a theme that they work on with that theme they should perform the song given to them. When its time to perform after practicing Robert, the casting director walks in with a member of the Glee cast to give them some advice and they decide on a winner for the “homework assignment”. Whoever wins that challenge gets to spend one on one time with the Glee member as well as get more time in the weeks music video.

The Contenders

Each week Robert and Zach, the choreographer put three contenders in the bottom and those three have to perform for the creator himself, Ryan Murphy! And then he decides who gets called back and who is not after giving them feedback of course.

The contenders train to learn all the dance moves and practice vocals in a few hours so they can be ready when they make it to the big times and guest star in Glee. Oh yea, I forgot to mention the winner of the competition  gets to guest star on Glee for 7 episodes!

Thats all you need to know about the show.
