Ramadan: The Experience

August 23, 2010

The past couple of days I’ve been in Saudi, mainly in Mecca. It’s almost an annual tradition for our family to go do Ummra during Ramadan. The weather conditions, eh… well, you can’t complain, it’s just hot, which made the rituals a bit harder but not that hard. All in all, it was a great experience and extremely amazing. Thousands of people seeking blessings and forgiveness from Allah.

This trip gave me the opportunity to realize the world around me, to stop for a second ( or for a couple of days) thinking about our lives and think about our purpose in life and others. It got me to realize how one belief can bring so many people together, bring them to give back to Allah, to pray, to ask for blessing, forgiveness, and to thank Allah for a good life and all the good things that had happened to us. It was heart-touching to see so many people in one place, in one holy place! May Allah accept all our prayers.

I also got to see the new clock that set a new record as the biggest clock in the world as of this time. It’s extremely beautiful and the face of the clock lights green at night, it’s amazing Mashalla.
